They haven’t had enough shooting or intuitive passers to manufacture better looks. Avery Bradley is an upgrade over Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, but he’s still more of one-dribble-pull-up guy than a drive-and-kick penetrator. No one is going to respect Stanley Johnson and Tobias Harris from deep — assuming Van Gundy sticks with that starting forward combo.

This is really about Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond. If they bounce back, the Pistons probably return to the playoffs. If they stink again, this team is going to look very different a year from now.

Take a look at the Hawks’ roster and you’ll see a lot of new, unproven faces. In fact, several of them (Taurean Prince, Dewayne Dedmon, John Collins) you probably haven’t heard of unless you follow the NBA closely, and each of those three listed above are expected to play prominent roles this season. That’s what makes a proven veteran scorer, 3-point shooter and rebounder like Ilyasova an attractive option in the later rounds. Someone aside from Schroder is going to have to score for this team, and there’s a good chance that’s going to be the 30-year-old Ilyasova (13.1 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.7 3PG in 2016-17). Sign me up!

Sorry, Kyrie, but it seems impossible that anything could be as crazy as this past summer. But Ainge won’t be opposed if his players find a way to make the season as interesting as the construction of this new-look roster.tigers_053-115x115

Against even normal 60-win teams, those blemishes wouldn’t matter. Anthony would have a safe resting place on defense. The Thunder would find ways to make Roberson less useless on offense so that he can lock down on the other end.

But when Golden State goes small, with Draymond Green at center, who is Melo guarding? Hell, who is he guarding when the starters face off, and Steven Adams wrestles Zaza Pachulia? Love is already familiar with this dilemma, and handled it better than he has been given credit for in last season’s NBA Finals. Starting him at center over Tristan Thompson gives him an easier hiding spot — Pachulia — until the Warriors downsize.

Twenty-three years old with a money stroke from beyond the arc and two-way potential as an elite 3-and-D shooting guard. That same description could have been written in October 2013 about Klay Thompson or October 2017 about Gary Harris.

Were it not for his fellow Splash Brother, Thompson would likely be viewed as the best shooter in the world. He’s also coming off an NBA Finals in which he spent more time guarding Kyrie Irving than any other Warriors player, while holding him to 38 percent shooting and 0.8 points per play. That’s a lofty goal for Harris to match.
Doug Flutie Game Jersey
Limited Mens Austin Johnson Jersey However, compare Harris to Thompson at the same age and you come away thinking Harris has all the tools to get there. Last season, Harris averaged more points per 36 minutes, shot a better percentage from 3 and finished with more win shares than Thompson did as a 22-year-old. And he did it while playing more than 30 minutes per game, a significant piece of the rotation, even if he didn’t yet quite have as large of a role as Thompson did at that same point.

Najae Brown returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown and Central Connecticut scored five more on offense to defeat Penn 42-21 on Saturday.

The Blue Devils (3-3) rolled up 473 yards of total offense — Jake Dolegala passed for 179 yards and scrambled for another 15 and a touchdown. Dolegala also found Drew Jean-Guillaume for a 7-yard touchdown pass before halftime. Central Connecticut rushed for 294 yards on 53 carries and four scores. Jean-Guillame opened the game with a TD run from the 14, Courtney Rush and Cameron Nash had scoring runs of 8 and 1 yards, respectively.

Brown picked off Nick Robinson and returned it 79 yards to give the Blue Devils an early 21-0 lead.

Penn came back on three Robinson touchdown passes — to Christian Pearson and a pair to Justin Watson to pull within 28-21 with 18 seconds left in the first half. The Quakers (2-2) didn’t score after halftime.

Limited Kids Deion Sanders Jersey Despite losing to Iowa State, Mayfield plants his flag here, thanks largely to his second-half brilliance at Ohio State. The Oklahoma senior maintains his record-setting pace for accuracy (74.6 percent completions), passing yards (1,635) and passing touchdowns (15). He’s the model for efficiency, leading the FBS by a wide margin after setting a single-season record with a 196.4 rating in 2016. Whether you love Mayfield or love to hate him — he welcomes both — you will continue watching his push for the Heisman and the College Football Playoff.

Davante Adams said he thought Aaron Rodgers went to him on the Green Bay Packers’ first play to help his mental state after all he’s been through following the vicious hit he took 10 days earlier.

Theoren Fleury Womens Jersey Rodgers then went back to Adams at the end to win the game.
Authentic Youth Tavon Wilson Jersey
Adams, who was cleared from the concussion protocol on Saturday, caught seven passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers’ 35-31 win Sunday over the Dallas Cowboys. That included the game-winning 12-yard touchdown with 11 seconds to play.

Based on how new Falcons offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian talked preseason about getting Julio Jones more involved in the red zone, it is surprising that Jones has no touchdowns yet this season, in the red zone or outside of it. Jones has one target in the red zone with no catches despite running 11 routes down there. Jones leads the team with 19 receptions for 295 yards, but he’s not one of the five Falcons with a TD reception. Maybe that will change next time out vs. the Miami Dolphins, if a hip flexor injury doesn’t hold Jones back.

If you thought Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was on a roll, how about wide receiver Devin Funchess. Has 14 catches for 123 yards and three touchdowns in the last two games. He had only 23 catches all of last season.

For so many reasons, if I were to draw a map of my life, Indianapolis would have as prominent a place there as it does in my heart, an emotional Manning said. Why? Because the Colts chose me as their first overall pick, and it’s certainly nice to be wanted because it was my first NFL team, and just like your car, your first is always ingrained in your memory.

The Miami Dolphins started last season — their first under coach Adam Gase — with a 1-4 record. Amazingly, they won nine of their final 11 games and made the playoffs.

This year, with optimism escalating, the Dolphins lost quarterback Ryan Tannehill for the season, signed Jay Cutler out of retirement, had their first game postponed because of Hurricane Irma, traveled to Los Angeles, New York and London for their first three games, and had their starting middle linebacker go AWOL.

The status of wide receiver Michael Crabtree is uncertain after he missed the previous game with a chest injury, but coach Jack Del Rio is optimistic he could return. Fellow wide receiver Amari Cooper and running back Marshawn Lynch have struggled to make plays this season.

Still, the Raiders expect Manuel to be effective against Baltimore.

EJ is a star in this league, receiver Cordarrelle Patterson said. He’s played for a long time and got drafted high in the first round for a reason. We all know what EJ can do. We’re not impressed with the things he did on Sunday. We’ve seen that each and every day in practice. When the time comes, we know he’s ready with all the work he’s put in and the extra time. That’s what quarterbacks do.

Baltimore is dealing with similar challenges.

After opening the season with a pair of dominant victories, the Ravens have struggled mightily over the past two weeks. The offense has been out of sync with Pro Bowl right guard Marshal Yanda out for the year with an ankle injury.

Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco has thrown for one touchdown with four interceptions and has been sacked six times over the losing streak. Flacco has taken full responsibility for the struggles, saying he need to throw the ball quicker and make smarter decisions.

Womens Ryan Quigley Jersey The night after the owners flew out of New York, the Packers and the Chicago Bears entered Lambeau Field for a Thursday game. There was as much anticipation for the national anthem as there was for the game between the NFL’s oldest rivalry. Both teams stood shoulder to shoulder on the line where the sideline meets the field. As the crowd cheered, U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers stood with his hands on his hips, waiting for the moment, with cameras zeroed in. Until recently, Rodgers had made a career out of not revealing many of his true convictions, but he seemed to have found a voice as an advocate for the protests, one of the few star quarterbacks to do so.

He finished the game but was having trouble breathing, which worsened after the game to the point that he needed medical attention from paramedics in the locker room. Odhiambo said he doesn’t remember much about that and that he started coming to in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, where he stayed overnight and was diagnosed with a bruised sternum, per the team.

Carroll said it will be important to see how Odhiambo handles practicing in pads in order to gauge his chances of playing Sunday against the Rams. If he can’t, either Matt Tobin or Isaiah Battle would start for Seattle at left tackle.
Womens Brian Cushing Jersey
Carroll said it’s going to be a long week for cornerback Jeremy Lane as he tries to come back from a groin strain that knocked him out of the Colts game on the opening possession. Lane won’t practice Wednesday or Thursday, Carroll said. If he can’t play Sunday, rookie Shaquill Griffin would again take his place at right cornerback with Justin Coleman handling nickelback duties.

We’re going to see all the way to the end of the week if he can make a comeback on this thing, but he won’t be able to practice the next couple of days, Carroll said of Lane.

Authentic Youth Robby Anderson Jersey Someone finally did something right in Thursday Night Football between the Texans and Bengals.

Deshaun Watson busted out a highlight reel 49-yard touchdown run to break a 3-3 tie in the first half, eliciting cheers from Texans fans for the first time in the monotonous first half.

Watson had been having a lot of trouble getting much of anything going, completing 5-of-10 passes for 34 yards and talling one rush for four yards prior to the final drive before the half. A nice pass to DeAndre Hopkins got things going and a shot from Bengals’ Geno Atkins may have truly woken Watson up.

Just a couple of plays later Watson broke through the line and scored the first touchdown of the game. Not a bad way for Watson to spend his 22nd birthday.

Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers: Now it’s time to panic. Newton, who was started in 66.9 percent of ESPN leagues as he faced a New Orleans Saints defense that had surrendered a most-in-the-league 56.3 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in the season’s first two weeks, dropped an 8.3-point stinker on Sunday, his sixth-worst single-game effort in his 96 career NFL contests.

Even more troubling: He was benched in the fourth quarter — granted, with the Panthers trailing by 21 points — and, a week after losing Greg Olsen for at least the next seven weeks due to a broken foot, he lost Kelvin Benjamin to a knee injury that threatens to cost the No. 1 wideout additional time. Newton, who is coming off March shoulder surgery, doesn’t appear his usual self, making him a surefire sit until he begins to show some improvement.

Andrew Luck is 28 years old. Over the last three years of his career, he’s played 22 out of a possible 34 games, counting this Sunday’s upcoming game that he’ll miss. A shoulder injury and the delayed decision to have surgery this January to try and fix it are keeping him off the field in the prime of his career. In reality, it seems more like the Colts’ incompetence that’s stunting his career.

Game Youth Paul Konerko Jersey On Wednesday night, Luck’s agent (and uncle) Will Wilson addressed rumors that Luck wanted to be traded, saying those were simply false. It was weird news to hear, because for a lot of people there wasn’t any context for it.

Nor should there have been. The rumors were pretty low level to begin with, but they made it onto the air via ESPN’s Mike and Mike show.

It’s been two years, almost to the day, that Luck first injured his shoulder. Since then, Luck and the Colts have followed a program alternating between rest and rehab and trying to play through it, before he finally had surgery this year. At that time, it was believed that he wouldn’t miss any time this season.

The secondary did it’s job, and the defensive line did it’s job, which allowed Von Miller and Shaq Barrett to harass Prescott. Miller came away with two sacks, breaking a streak of 5 games without a sack. Miller continues to be a massive threat, and offensive coordinators must adjust to his presence.

The Cowboys had obviously put together a game plan concentrating on Miller. As their plan fell apart, Miller was able to pressure and then eventually get to Prescott.

Game Youth Jack Ham Jersey On the other side of the ball, the offensive line played well. Not great, but good enough to allow the Broncos to move the ball, and get points on the board. It is still not a perfect unit, and with the Garett Bolles injury, things might get a little worrisome in the coming weeks. However, C.J. Anderson ran behind that line like a man possessed.

Roger Goodell is waiting for a contract extension from NFL owners that will keep him as the league’s commissioner for the foreseeable future. It seemed a deal was on the verge of happening, but now one owner is standing his ground and holding up proceedings: Jerry Jones.

Jones is not a member of the NFL’s compensation committee, which is responsible for extending Goodell’s deal, but he has injected himself into the process and slowed it down, according to a report from ESPN. A source familiar with the matter told ESPN just how influential Jones’ involvement has been.

“If not for Jerry, this deal would be done.”

So say Tony wants to watch a new movie, one that you haven’t seen before. OF COURSE he’s going to spoil it for you in the first five minutes — either by randomly guessing the ending or because he’s reading the movie’s Wikipedia page while you watch. He just can’t help himself — that much is clear. He can’t even let you finish a football game without telling you what’s going to happen before it does.

And come on — we all know Tony Romo was the guy who spoiled The Sixth Sense for everyone. His friends were probably just trying to watch it and he was definitely like, “I really think that Bruce Willis has been dead this whole time.”

So, yeah, Tony Romo is a good broadcaster. He’s likable, smart, and knows the game. But do you really want that in a movie-watching buddy? Hell no. You want someone who’s as clueless as you are.

So next time my good personal friend Tony Romo asks if I want to come over and watch Game of Thrones or just some movie on Netflix, I’m doing the right thing and saying, “Spoiler Alert, Tony: no.”

The average football fan can’t fathom what Le’Veon Bell did prior to the NFL deadline for franchise tagged players to receive a long-term contract.

Bell turned down a reported 5-year contract worth almost $12.5 million a year. This is what the leaked reports stated, but Bell didn’t just turn down a contract, he bet on himself.

He declared he wanted to be paid as a top running back Matthew Tkachuk Jersey in the NFL, and the Pittsburgh Steelers No. 2 wide receiver. To be fair, he holds those two roles when Sam Huff Jersey he is healthy and available on the football field, but he decided playing on a one-year franchise tag, worth $12.1 million dollars, is worth it if he goes out and lights it up in 2017.

Well, after sitting out training camp and the entire preseason, Bell’s Week 1 performance against the Cleveland Browns, and Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, have left a lot to be desired.

Bell doesn’t look right.

The Giants will be playing that game on a short week coming off their Monday Night Football matchup against the Detroit Lions. Detroit will host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, with Atlanta opening as a 3.5-point road favorite. The Lions are 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games at home, but are 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS in their last four games against Atlanta per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Tampa Bay at Minnesota should be another interesting matchup between two potential playoff teams. The spread on this game will be released later in the week when the status of Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford is known. Bradford missed last Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh with a knee injury.

The week kicks off on Thursday night with a matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco (+2) has won each of its last three games against the Rams and is 7-1-1 SU in its last nine home games against Los Angeles.
