For one, Kershaw’s health is a serious concern. He missed two months of 2016 with a herniated disc in his back that limited him to 149 innings. Kershaw looked worn out by the time he pitched in Game 6 of the NLCS last fall, likely thanks to both his back and the fact this was already his fifth start of the postseason due to the Dodgers’ obsession with pitching their starters on three days’ rest in October. And they almost didn’t even make it far enough for this to happen to Kershaw, too, as his reputation nearly cost the Dodgers the NLDS before then.

No one knows if this back injury is something that is going to limit Kershaw from here on out, so saying that is definitely what is happening is irresponsible. At a time when the Dodgers are the best they’ve been with Kershaw, though, even the slight chance that he won’t be the unstoppable horse he’s been for nearly a decade now is an alarming one.

Kershaw is supposed to be the healthy constant surrounded by an ever-rotating cast of starters who might not have the physical ability to approach 200 innings without breaking into pieces. If Kershaw can’t get there, and he’s limited in the postseason in some way because of this, that’s a huge issue for Los Angeles and their chances.

Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen was given a three-game suspension for his hit that concussed Penguins rookie Jake Guentzel on Tuesday.
Limited Womens Mike Wagner Jersey
The NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced the punishment Thursday following a hearing with the 22-year-old blueliner, who did not have a track record of previous violations during his three-year NHL career. But the fact Guentzel was injured on the play likely factored into the severity of the ban.

Limited Evander Kane Jersey The hit occurred at the 11:17 mark of the first period in Buffalo’s 3-1 loss. Guentzel was the intended recipient of a deflected pass as the Penguins attempted to exit the zone, and Ristolainen followed through with a vicious hip check, catching Guentzel off guard and knocking him backward to the ice.

Guentzel emerged from the play with his face bloodied and headed for the locker room. He did not return to the game.

Capitals owner Ted Leonsis has supported Ovechkin’s desire to go to PyeongChang; last week, Senators owner Eugene Melnyk gave a flat no when asked whether his players would be free to attend.

The situation is similar to the lead-up to the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, when the NHL did not agree to go until July 2013.

If there’s still a desire to salvage talks, it seems the next move will have to be made by the IOC.

When the IOC comes to us and says, ‘By the way we know it cost $15 to $20 million to send your players between insurance, charter costs and accommodations for the players’ … well, we’re not going to pay for that, Bettman said.

If they don’t value our participation why are we going.

The Chicago Cubs are a perfect 9-0 in their last nine games on the road. The Cubs will try to extend that road winning streak in a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers starting Friday night.

Authentic Mens Evander Kane Jersey Chicago is a -150 road favorite in Milwaukee at sportsbooks monitored by Jose Quintana will take the mound for the Cubs on Friday against Brent Suter and the Brewers as +140 home underdogs.

The Cubs have erased a 5 1/2 game deficit in the NL Central to take over the top spot in the division with an 11-2 surge since the All-Star break, taking advantage of a Brewers slump.

As the AP reports, in 2018 the league is planning a season opening series somewhere in Asia but some sources have said that based on the current timing that series will probably not come to fruition. In April of next year, a series between Cleveland and Minnesota in Puerto Rico has been confirmed for the 17th and 18th. There will also be a series in Mexico in April.

Authentic Mens Dustin Colquitt Jersey For 2019, the season will open in Japan and include another Mexico trip, as well as a planned game in London’s Olympic Stadium. At this point, the teams involved are allegedly the Yankees and Sox.

One strong fan base won’t always be enough for fans to turn out in a foreign country, so scheduling a rivalry to kick off a presence in England makes sense.

For 2020, the season will once again start in Asia although no confirmed country has been specified as the locale right now. Throughout the year there will once again be a series in Mexico, as well as in Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic that spring.

This time, Ryan Tannehill will have surgery to repair his knee.

The Miami Herald reported Friday that the Dolphins quarterback will have reconstructive surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. He will be placed on injured reserve and miss the season.

In an effort to allow players to be more expressive, the NFL will permit any color or design on their cleats as long as the footwear doesn’t include commercialized or trademarked logos. The other league-approved brands include Nike, Under Armour and adidas.

From wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown to quarterback Cam Newton, a number of players received fines last season for donning decorated cleats, whether to tribute 9/11, commemorate lost idols or just show their wacky personality. However, the NFL allowed players to design their own footwear for Week 13 last year and the custom shoes were later auctioned to benefit the various charities they promoted.

It seems the praise drawn from that campaign swayed the league to loosen its grip this season.

“I was really proud of it. And I think we as a society should be proud,” Baldwin said. “The overwhelming and most profound message is that we claim to have equality and liberty for all people. And some people feel that’s not the case.

“So maybe we should listen to them. Maybe we should listen to what their thoughts are and see if we can’t be better. If we think we’re perfect, the Romans thought they were perfect. I’d just say maybe we shouldn’t think we’re perfect and there’s always room for improvement.”

Michael Bennett said he plans on sitting during the anthem for the enterity of the season. While Baldwin might join him, brother Martellus didn’t give a direct answer as to whether he will do the same.

Limited Kids Cameron Fleming Jersey So, until recently, it’s been a small list. There is now a fifth must-read Hall of Fame book, though, with the recent publication of Jay Jaffe’s The Cooperstown Casebook (446 pages, Thomas Dunne Books, Hardcover, $25.99). Jaffe’s debut solo book isn’t perfect but makes for a long-overdue update for The Politics of Glory.

Stylistically, Jaffe’s work is in the same vein as The Politics of Glory or another James classic, The New Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract. There isn’t a book-length narrative as with Cooperstown Confidential or A Legend for the Legendary, but a series of mini-biographical capsules most of the way, breaking down the most deserving Hall of Famers at every position.

That’s not sustainable for a catcher, even an outstanding young player like Contreras. The Cubs need to add someone to lighten the load, and veteran Alex Avila feels like a perfect fit. The Tigers are sellers on the market, and Avila, 30, is a free agent after the season. The left-handed hitter is having his best offensive season since 2011, when he produced a 5.1 rWAR for Detroit. Avila’s batting .291 with 11 homers and a .932 OPS in 70 games.
Limited Kids Adam Vinatieri Jersey
As for other options … the Cubs know former Milwaukee catcher Jonathan Lucroy well, and he’s a soon-to-be free agent in Texas who is having a so-so year offensively (.251 average, .653 OPS). That lack of production means he wouldn’t be super expensive for the Cubs, and maybe the two teams work out some type of Darvish-and-Lucroy combo deal. Kurt Suzuki wouldn’t be a headline-grabbing addition, but he’s a veteran who has eight homers and a .813 OPS in 44 games as Atlanta’s second catcher. That would definitely be an upgrade for the Cubs.

Caleb Brantley was a potential first-round pick until he was charged with assaulting a woman in the lead-up to the NFL Draft. The Browns picked him up in the sixth round and flirted with releasing him before those charges were dropped. Now, he’ll give Cleveland a tremendous value in the middle of the field. He’ll compete with Larry Ogunjobi, the greatest player in the history of Charlotte football and a relative gridiron neophyte with the potential to be the next Dontari Poe.

Behind that wealth of talent is a hollow linebacking corps led by Jamie Collins, a potential eight-game rental in 2016 who shifted gears from the league’s No. 1 team to No. 32 after a trade with the Patriots. In a major win for the club, Brown convinced Collins, a pending free agent, to re-up with the club. The Pro Bowler was water to the desert in Cleveland, immediately taking a spotlight role in a depleted depth chart. His tackle numbers rose from 4.7 per game to 8.6 with the Browns, showcasing just how important he was — and how few options the team had to make stops in its second level.

The franchise has a lot of corny, ridiculous things that deserve to be made fun of: villains who contribute to excruciatingly formulaic plots; the soundtrack, which can range from romantically cheesy to “wait, this is totally a knockoff of John Fogerty’s ‘Centerfield’”; the ridiculous sports scenes involving Air Bud, like his aforementioned batting practice, and this block from Spikes Back.

But there’s something about the Air Bud series that’s worth admiring: These movies have heart.

I think he’s one of the better quarterbacks, and he should have an opportunity right now to be playing, Harris said. Obviously, there are reasons he is not with a team that have nothing to do with his ability to play. There are differences in our situations as black quarterbacks, but the similarity is all about opportunity. And that’s a shame.

Kaepernick remains unsigned despite having led the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance and despite throwing 16 touchdown passes and four interceptions last season on a woeful 2-14 team. Much of the NFL insists this is a football decision more than it’s blackballing Kaepernick for his police brutality and civil rights protests that included his kneels during pregame national anthem renditions.

Game Isaiah Pead Jersey That football decision stance is one that Harris and many others find nonsensical.

Harris played at Grambling and in 1969 was an eighth-round pick, No. 192, by the old AFL’s Buffalo Bills. That year he became the first black quarterback to start an NFL season. He was only the second black quarterback in the NFL, coming into the league one year after Denver’s Marlon Briscoe. Harris played for the Bills (’69-’72), Rams (’73-’76) and Chargers (’77-’81).

Watkins is a dynamic, field-stretching threat who can change games on one play … when he’s healthy, which has rarely been the case in three years. He played all 16 games in 2014 but was constantly limited by nagging injuries. Watkins played in just 13 and eight games the following two years, as complications from foot surgery kept popping up.

Watkins is a great player, but the Bills paid a steep price to get him, trading away their 2015 first-rounder to Cleveland to move up four spots. They would surely like to get more out of him.

Rene Robert Jersey Hart’s been on the NBA radar for over two years now and even went as far as to declare for the draft last year. But after struggling at the NBA Draft Combine a month after starring in the national championship, he decided to return. Then, he put in a another average performance at the Nike Basketball Academy, leaving many scouts wondering if he was maxed out as an excellent college player.

However, Hart has taken the next leap forward. Particularly, his ability to create plays with the ball in his hands has become elite. Always an elite finisher around the rim 鈥?his 1.52 points per shot around the basket in the halfcourt is in the 94th percentile among all college basketball players according to Synergy 鈥?Hart has improved his ability to get there by adding better change of pace and direction to his game. He’s always been an excellent straight-line driver because his strength, but he can now get more space around the rim in a variety of ways.

Hart’s also improved as a jump shooter, hitting 39 percent of his 3s. There’s still a small concern about Hart’s jumper going forward, as he has something of an odd release that sees his hands more parallel to the seams on the basketball than most others players. But the signs are that he can be an adequate NBA shooter in time. Throw in the elite basketball IQ, tremendous rebounding for a guard, and defensive toughness that should make him playable early in his NBA career, and Hart has done a great job thus far of making himself a potential first round pick.

Throughout last year, Larry Fitzgerald heard the question: “Are you going to retire after the 2016 season?”

The Cardinals star receiver obviously didn’t hang up his cleats, returning in 2017 for his 14th NFL campaign. But in his first media appearance of the 2017 season Sunday, Fitzgerald once again got the retirement question.

“I feel good right now,” Fitzgerald said (via “When that changes, I’ll let you know.”

In situations of intensity, like Sherman screaming at his coaches or smack talking his teammates, the veteran describes his behavior as nothing more than competitive expression. Sherman also pointed out that not all teammates spend time together off the field and clarified it doesn’t necessarily mean trouble is brewing if teammates don’t have a perfect relationship outside of football.

“Every single person on every single team doesn’t hang out,” Sherman said. “I don’t see anybody getting mad that Tom [Brady] isn’t hanging out with [cornerback] Malcolm Butler. Like, ‘Hey Tom, you and Malcolm Butler hang out? You guys don’t? Hmm … what’s going on there?’ You know what I mean? What are we talking about here? They’re trying to create a story that isn’t there.”
